Top Card Trumps is a game for two or more players where the aim is to collect as many cards as possible by playing trump cards. The winner is the player who collects all of the cards. The game can be played with any number of players but we'll start with the basic rules for two players.

To begin, each player is dealt 10 cards and one card is turned over to become the trump suit. This card remains face up on the table throughout the game. The player with the highest trump card takes the first trick. The rest of the tricks are taken in turn according to the rank of the card – Aces are high and Two's are low. The winner of each trick leads for the next one. When you have no more cards in your hand, you put your hand on your forehead and say "Uno". If someone else goes out before you, they must say "Uno" also and put their hand on their head. The last player to still have cards in their hand loses and must give one card to each other player. The first player to lose all their cards (or with no cards left in their hand) is the loser of the game.

• If an opponent takes any card from your hand, this counts as a point against you. The winner is the first player to reach 100 points or more (or whoever has more points when time runs out).
